Yesterday was my birthday! The BIG 3-0! Let me tell you, life moves fast. My twenties weren't all too bad. I made it through university, dabbled in a number of jobs, have moved from one place to another, what feels like a gazillion times, and not less importantly have taught myself what I have already been dreaming of as a teenager: make my own clothes!
I can sew reasonably well, can even make my own patterns and have recently taught myself crocheting. All of this would never have been possible without the internet and the many, many people out there, who often without any financial gain, are willing to share their knowledge with the online community. Without the inspiration, advice, help and generosity of the online community I would never have learnt and achieved what I have. This makes me really happy!
As a little thank you, I have decided to celebrate this day with a giveaway. I'm giving away two patterns from my stash. First up this Vintage Vogue dress pattern, a reprint from the 1950s:
It's a lovely dress but I think I've had this pattern in my stash for at least three years, if not longer, and it's fair to say that I'll never sew it up. I think it deserves a new home, where someone will actually use this pattern. The size of this pattern is 12-14-16.
The second pattern is this McCall's Palmer/Pletsch knit dress pattern. For some reason, I can no longer remember, I have this pattern in my stash twice. I've sewn the dress up once and was pretty impressed with the pattern and happy with the final result. I still wear this dress. Often. Maybe I'll even make another version one of these days. So if you want to make your own, I'm giving away this pattern in a size 8-10-12-14-16.
To enter this giveaway, simply leave a comment on this post telling me which pattern you'd like. Don't forget to leave an e-mail address! I'll pick two winners randomly on 31 May and, yes, the giveaway is open internationally.
Have a lovely Sunday evening,
Stephanie
