My New Sewing Corner
In our new abode in Exeter I created a little sewing corner for my self in our living room. It is not very big and most of the time my sewing spills over onto the dining table and the floor but it is still a nice little corner.
I made myself a pinboard out of a scrap of fabric from my sewing stash and some ribbon. I use it to hang up some of my drawings to remind me of my next projects or pin the patterns I want to use on the board.
I also hung up my thread spool holder that my mum and her husband made me some time ago. It is very practical. I now know exactly what kinds of threads I have and can easily find a matching one.
And then I put up a rail I got from the bargain section in ikea to hang my patterns from. They used to be folded away in huge plastic bags that went behind book cases and such and usually ended up pretty dog-eared. Now that problem is solved too.
I try to keep the desk clear of mess but it doesn't always work out. I should perhaps get a bigger table at some point :)
Do you have a sewing corner at home? Or even a sewing room (oh, how nice that would be!)?
I have a sewing room. I'm stilling working out the kinks. My first project was moving a piece of unused furniture. In and making it the new computer desk while also turning the old computer desk into a sewing table to house my serger and combo embroidery sewing machine.
