A Year in Indie Patterns October: Maria Denmark Patterns

In October I will be testing MariaDenmark patterns. Maria runs a blog and has been selling and translating Danish patterns (including ONION patterns) through her webshop ShopOnion for some time.

Recently she has started her own pattern line in the Scandinavian tradition of, as she describes it, "simple lines, functional and for everyday wear". If I have counted correctly, she has published ten patterns in her own line so far. One of them, the Kirsten Kimono Tee is a free pattern, when you subscribe to Maria's newsletter.

So, even if you are on a limited pattern sewing budget for October, you can test along with me, using Maria's free pattern.

I particularly like The Edith blouse and dress. As Maria wrote on her blog, the pattern was inspired by a photograph of her grandmother wearing a similar dress in the 1950s.

I also like the versatile Audrey Knit dress. Both patterns come in B-cup and C-cup variations. Excellent!

Do have a look at her patterns either on the ShopOnion site, Craftsy or PatternReview and test along with me!

This is really interesting.I had never heard of Maria Denmark patterns. Well done on giving these independent designers a showcase.
Living in outer Mongolia more than half the year, pattern selection is, um, limited (--though I can get gorgeous knits from everywhere from Korea to Italy!). I started using Maria of Denmark patterns last year and LOVE them. Easy peasy pieces, instructions and construction AND THEY FIT!!! I started with the Kirsten (which I've made about 12 I think), the lounge pants (gorgeous fit)--I made 3 for my Pilates class and 1 in stretch velvet for really long flights. I just purchased the Birgitte Basic Tee & Day to Night Drape Top and look forward to some more TNTs. Hope you enjoy them as much as I have! PS: her podcast, "Twin Needles" is a hoot, too :)

Wow, you seem to be really into these patterns. Well, I've given one a try so far and really like it. Might make another one later this month. Will post about it.
This is a great challenge! I was on holiday so missed last month, but have used the Edith blouse for pyjamas this month.

Cool, would be super if you shared a link of your review, once I actually get around to posting a link-up. :)
