As you may know I teach pattern drafting and dressmaking in a sewing shop in Exeter. Today one of my first ever students has completed her very first dressmaking project: a super cute little girl's dress for her daughter. Although I did not sew a single stitch on this dress I'm still awfully proud of the result, and even more so of my talented and patient student. She did an amazing job for a beginner and I hope her daughter gets a lot of wear out of her pretty new dress.
And what's even better: despite several zipper and bias tape attachment mishaps and some inevitable seam ripping, I have not scared my novice dressmaker from attempting more projects. Next on her list: an apron!
